Greetings from Australialand.
It's currently 90 degrees, I'm on my last working day for 2 weeks and we've all been at the pub since 11am. It's warm enough to drive the Jeep with no doors.
Christmas is going to be a very warm day, so we're planning going to the beach before lunch - which will be a huge seafood meal.
New Years Eve will be spent by the harbour, in warm weather and at one of the greatest cities in the world for NYE
In summary, enjoy your freezing shitty weather. We'll be here celebrating the best time of the year in the best weather of the year.

G'day, mate !

I honestly can't remember the last time I heard someone say "G'Day". It's been a while.

Friday before hols early knockoff? Sweet fucking Jesus how hot is it today, the thermo is saying 27 but I'm calling BS on that.

It topped 33 in Sydney. Pub was farking hot though.

While shovelling sucks, summer here does not automatically turn our forests into a Sea of Flame and I can use water whenever I please!
Happy Holidays from your colonial neighbour in Canada!

As a Californian, I'm not jealous. How do you know it's winter in California? There is snow on the mountains. If I want to go to the beach I can. If I want to play in the snow, it's an hour away. Beat that, Australia.

OK, then...
How you going ?
A friend from Melbourne always asked me that... You're right, now that I think of it, none of my Aussie friends would say "G'day".

1) It's not that bad, the city only burns down every 10 years or so.
2) No more water restrictions since the massive rains a few years back
3) Beer was never restricted ;-)

I actually prefer the cold and snow when winter comes, I feel like the holidays aren't the same without some snow on the ground. So yeah, I guess enjoy your weather because soon our beaches will look like this as well
and I will be here for New Years. Happy Holidays.

That's better.
How you going is a greeting. We don't actually want to hear how you are.

Me? Jelly?
Nah.

1) Your current water temp is 57 degrees. Ours is over 75.
2) Want snow? Go to New Zealand, its a short flight. It's what we put it there for.
3) Our beaches are heaps better!

I can get popped for 20 over and not get my car impounded. Beat that, Australia.

So if that's Puerto Rico, its over two and a half thousand kilometres to New York.
The distance from the beaches to Sydney at NYE is way less than 25 km!

Well, looking in your forecast, you're living in weather I find intolerable. 38 Celsius (or anything 80+) is my idea of hell.
I was working today and it was a mild -5 today (21?) working with my coat open and gloves off. It was pretty nice, better than last week when it felt like -35C (-31F) which wasn't great, but honestly still better than the best heat wave.
Yeah, I'm serious.
So I'll raise a pint to you on midnight of the New Year good sir, a good old Molson frosted by nature.

Been busted for well above 20 over, and got nothing more than a fine.
You have to be a real dickhead to get impounded.

Ok, that was hitting below the belt.
I LOL'd, tho.

If the belt is the equator, then yes, I was hitting below the belt.

That is because I am Puerto Rican, and if you want beaches that are closer sure I can do that.

It's actually pretty bloody hot today. Normally its around 80 which is nice.
Got to 114 in January - hottest on record. That was nuts!

The Americans have a secret weapon against the jelly of your beautiful weather. It's this little island called Puerto Rico. The sad thing is many don't know this island is their property, so they don't take advantage of the weather in Christmas shown in these pictures below (taken a couple of years back):

As someone from the southeast (Georgia) I hate all of you. I have no warm wether or snow to hoon in. It's 45 and overcast/drizzle

Merry Xmas Australia-
Enjoy your holiday pestilence by enjoying your venomous snakes, spiders, scorpions, poisonous plants, alligators, jellyfish, sharks, ants, dingos, deserts, brushfires and cheap 2nd hand Holdens. I am going to go catch a movie.

I did want to hit up PR when I was over that side of the world recently. However, its too close to us in beaches, so why waste 13 hours on a plane?
Here's our versions:
Hamilton Island:
Fraser Island:
Sydney Harbour (this is 2
0 minutes from the city)
The entrance to the harbour

Sounds amazing but I've heard its full of spiders ;-)

Merry Chrissy to you. I'll celebrate by not being attacked by Drop Bears on the way home.

You and I think alike. I don't travel to other beaches around the world because I live in Puerto Rico.

"Freezing, shitty weather." Let's get back together in July. :)
![]() 12/20/2013 at 00:23 |

I haven't seen a venomous snake in a decade, nor a venomous spider for many years.
Those big fucking Huntsman spiders in the first pic? We get a few of those. They are allergic to shoes.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 00:24 |

Sure. When it's 70 degrees in the middle of Winter here ;-)
![]() 12/20/2013 at 00:25 |

Nope, not jealous. I don't care much for temps over 80 Fahrenheit. Besides, it may only be 18 degrees now where I am (Colorado), but it was in the mid/upper 60's here this week. We get lots of sunshine here (300+ days of sunshine per year, usually), and there's mountains, and lots of good beer too. Who needs oxygen? It's overrated.

Yeah, you suck. What part of Oz are you in?

Came here to post those fucking crazy things that live in Australia, jesus christ I'm never going there

I'm currently sitting half way up this wharf...

Wharf, Australia. Never been there.

I thought the bridge in the background might have given it away.
I'll give you a hint; it starts with an S, and it rhymes with shmidney.

Uhm. LA is going to hit mid-70s this Christmas week. That's LA year round. Rarely too hot, rarely too cold.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 02:48 |
|
Wait, wait, don't tell me.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 02:56 |
|
Oh, don't I know it. I also live in Georgia, and I'll wear a jacket out to the car, then ten minutes later it's laying across the passenger seat and all my windows are down. We're perpetually stuck right on the line where it's always a little too hot or a little too cold, but never comfortable.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 04:00 |
|
I'm sorry, how could I be jealous over too hot beaches when I've got massive frozen lakes as a playground?
![]() 12/20/2013 at 05:35 |

My opinion on beaches:
Here's a picture of me if I don't wear SPF 10,000:
But you know what we have that you don't?
Highs. (including Pike's Peak Hill Climb)
And Lows.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 06:57 |

Might have been a bit jealous of the beach thingy ... but then there's this .
![]() 12/20/2013 at 07:10 |

At least I'm not upside down.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 12:21 |

From my perspective - you are.
![]() 12/20/2013 at 12:26 |

We have some of those:
![]() 12/20/2013 at 12:27 |
|
WTF is that? Looks like those signs that say no speed limit. We used to have those...
![]() 12/20/2013 at 12:28 |
|
Yeah, but it's LA.
(I kid, had a ball there last year. Your freeways need some work though)
![]() 12/20/2013 at 12:29 |

Bikinis or overcoats. You decide..
![]() 12/20/2013 at 13:48 |

I can get all the Bikinis I want at the click of a button, I cannot go play in the show like that.
